Wow. It has been so long since I have posted. Life has been good, but crazy! We have moved into our new home, had a great summer, met lots of new neighbors, and started off the new school year with a bang.
Now... it is time to get back on track. I have only fit in workouts when I could, and have not eaten like I should. I have put off so many blog posts.
"It takes 21 days to form a habit, good or bad." The next 21 days I am going to get rid of my old habits and form better, healthier ones. I will get in a workout of some sort each day for the next 21 days, and enter a post to check in for accountability.
I am excited and feeling very motivated! Anyone want to join? :)
Things I am looking forward to!

I do not want to have "losing weight" as one of my 2012 new year's resolutions

MIA/Chinese New Year
So, I have been MIA the last couple of weeks. Talk about piling any and all kinds of stress and sickness into the last 2 weeks. In my last post I had high hopes of participating in babyweightmyfatass's virtual 5k, and it didn't so much happen.(anyone know of any virtual 5ks for February?) Arggg. I am here by now declaring the end of the craziness, stress and sickness in our family, I have had it. I am ready to hit the pavement (preferably with no ice/now/snirt). Tomorrow is the 1st day of my training schedule/group run for the Indy Mini in May :) Excited to get out of this rut and pack on the miles.

Virtual 5K

I can't believe we are in the last week of January! I have a couple of things on my January To Do list that I still need to complete. So this week is going to be busy. One of my goals is to run 5K in sub 30. I am so, so close. I think I found the perfect motivation to get me there.

Spring Training
Starting in 2 weeks it is official spring training for several half marathons I am running. I have a big spring line up this year. May is an especially busy month. The local running store, Tri-n-Run (cute name) is hosting a training program for the Indianapolis Mini Marathon. The Indy Mini is May 7, and is my first half marathon this year. I ran it last year, and LOVED it! The program that Tri-n-Run is hosting includes: weekly running schedules, strength training and cross training at Club Newtone, Saturday group runs, personalized shoe fitting, our own post race tent, allat a low cost of $40. I am excited to see their training schedule compared to the one I use. The program starts in 2 weeks, the beginning of February. I am looking forward to making it to some of the group runs, to meet some more local runners.

Tae Kwon Do
My son (age 7) and I started taking a tae kwon do class taught by a master. When I joined, I thought that my part was basically to learn the forms to help Jacob at home with them. I have to say I have gotten a lot out of the classes already. First of all it is great for self confid
ence and discipline. I really do get a good workout in, one hour of moderate cardio. I would say it is the best cross training between my runs that I have ever done. Jacob is absolutely loving it, and loving participating with me.

Polar Heart Rate Monitor
use that I received from the physicians I work for. I immediately new what I wanted to spend it on... a heart rate monitor. After a lot of research on the internet, I decided which one I wanted and ventured out to get ittonight. I waited to do my workout this evening with it, went to set it up, looks really simple. The instructions read, to activate press ok button 2 times, and guess what... I pressed the ok button 2 times, and nothing. And I repeated that umpteen million times, and nothing. Arggg. I was so frustrated. So, tomorrow I go in to return/exchange it. I was so excited for my workout with it, and bam the excitement was all gone. What did people ever do before all these fancy gadgets to workout with?
